This article will cover the steps to setup CatalogueLINK and ensure the correct file and folder permissions have been applied.
To obtain the relevant CatalogueLINK install file for your accounting package please contact Straightsell.
Installation
- Run the CatalogueLINK installer
- Select Next to continue
- Select an installation folder. It is highly recommended you leave this as the default directory.
- Select Next to continue
- Confirm the installation by clicking Next
- Your installation will now proceed. Please wait until it completes

- Once your installation is complete click Close

Important: Set the user to have full control and be the owner of the installation parent folder e.g. ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\SEL\’ and ensure inheritance applies down to all sub folders and files.
This is to prevent Windows from using Virtual Store with the database as this can cause data loss.
Refer to the following steps to accomplish this.

this:
- Navigate to the C:\Program Files (x86)\ directory
- Right Click on SEL and then Click on Properties
- Click on the Security tab and then Click on Edit
- Click on Add
- Type in the User for this computer and then Click OK
- Click on the User and then Check the box Allow Full Control
- Click Apply then OK
- Click on Advanced
- Click on Change
- Type in the User for this computer and then Click OK
- Check both boxes highlighted in the screenshot below
- Click Apply (Click Yes and OK to any popup windows) then OK and OK again
