Configure Category Header Text and Images

Product Category Header Text and Images is an optional Add On that allows you to provide more information when customers are browsing your product categories.

If you have Category Header Text and Images enabled you will need to set up both the text to display and upload an appropriate image. 

Please note that your version of Category Header Text and Images will define what options you have to configure. Please select your version below:

Version 1 (Before May 2018)


  • Go into Content Management - Form Generator and select View Data 

  • Select Add New

  • Tick IsActive to turn on the display of the image and text. If unticked, neither will display.
  • Add Category Level 1/2/3 values to target the specific category, or select ApplyToSubCategories to apply the text and image to all subcategories of the path you enter. 
  • Click Save

Note: The Category name must match the exact Category name, including its case. 

You then need to upload an image into the /categoryheader folder that matches the Category of the form.

To upload the image, log in to the Straightsell Control Panel and navigate to:

  • Content Management > Documents & Images
  • Select the Upload tab
  • Choose the folder /documents/categoryheader
  • Click Browse and select your image file
  • Check the Publish box and Uncheck the Optimise JPEGs box
  • Click Upload File

Provided you entered everything correctly, your image and text should now display in the category location you specified.


Version 2 (May 2018 Onwards)

  • Go into Content Management - Form Generator and select View Data 

  • Select Add New

  1. Fill in each of the following fields:
  2. Active: Check this to show this Category and Image on the website, uncheck will disable it. 
  3. Apply To Sub Categories: Allows your Category Header and Text entry to apply to all subcategories of the category path you define unless a more specific one exists. Helpful if you want to have some generic images and text you want to apply to a series of categories.
    1. If this is ticked on a Cat 1: Apply to all Cat 2s and Cat 3s Under the Cat 1 that do not have their own Category Header Text and Image content.
    2. If this is ticked on a Cat 2: Apply to all Cat 3s under the Cat 2 that do not have their own Category Header Text and Image content.
    3. If this is ticked on a Cat 3: Will do nothing as there are no subcategories under a Cat3.
  4. Heading Text: The Text that will display above the description.
  5. Category Path: The path to the Category you wish to apply your text and image to. If Apply To Sub Categories is ticked this will flow down to all subcategories from here.
  6. Category Image: The filename of the image you upload into documents/categoryheader. The image should be 847px wide and 250px tall. 
  7. Text Location: Align the text left, centred or right.
  8. Text Colour: The colour of the font. For example use white (#ffffff) if you had a black image.
  9. Text Shadow Colour: Optional text shadow colour that can help improve the visibility of text over the image. Leave blank if not required.
  10. Category Text: The text you wish to display over your Category Image. You can use the WYSIWYG editor or use the Source button to manipulate HTML/CSS.

  • Click Save
  • Your image and text should now appear under the category path you defined:
