You can edit some of your websites content directly by clicking on the Edit Website button in the CMS.

Image Added

This will bring up the Edit version of the website, which lets you modify content with a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor.

  • Make your changes using the WYSIWYG editor.
  • If you prefer to make your changes in the source code you can select View > Source Code to bring up the HTML view.
  • Select Save & Close with Publish Page checked if you want the change to appear on the website immediately
  • Uncheck Publish Page and click Save & Close if you want someone else to approve the changes by viewing them in Edit Website

  • Enter some text you wish the link to display, select it and click the Insert /Edit > Link button
  • Enter the link into the URL field, or click Browse Server if you wish to link to a page on your website
  • Click Target and select New Window (_blank) so the link will open in a new tab
  • Once you are completed, click OK.
  • Click Save & Close with Publish Page checked

Insert a Link to a Document

You may wish to create a link to a document you have uploaded into Documents & Images. These instructions assume you have already uploaded your file into /documents.

  • Go into Documents & Image in the Straightsell CMS
  • Locate your document and click View
  • Copy the full URL to the file from the address bar
  • Go to Edit Text where you want to add the link
  • Enter the text you wish to display for the link and then select the text
  • Select Insert/Edit Link and paste the URL you copied from the address bar
  • Click Target and select New Window (_blank) so the link will open in a new tab
  • Click OK

Insert an Image

  • Select where you would like the image to appear and click the Insert/Edit Image button
  • Click Browse Server and select the folder where the image is located
  • Once you find your image, click Select
  • Your image will be placed into the document. If you wish to change the size or alignment of the image, right click the image and select Image Properties
  • Click Save & Close with Publish Page checked

Insert a Table

  • Find a space in the body you wish to place the table and click the Insert/Edit Table button
  • Edit the properties for the table
  • Insert your text into the table fields
  • If you wish to modify the table further, right click on the table and select Table Properties

  • URL: enter an external link or select an internal link from the folder icon
    • Internal Web Page - select a page from the Web Pages folder
    • Internal File - select the file from the folder the file was uploaded to
  • Text to display: the text that will be used as the link (this will be pre filled if it was pre selected)
  • Title: enter the hover over text to display
  • Target: where the link will open
    • None: the link will open in the same window
    • New Window: the link will open in a different window

Insert an Image

You can use the WYSIWYG to insert images into edit regions.

  • Navigate to the area you want to insert the image and select Insert > Image

  • Upload Tab: allows you to upload images directly to the WYSIWYG
    • Browse to the image on your computer or drag and drop the image onto the WYSIWYG
    • Images uploaded in this fashion will be placed in the /documents/ folder
  • General Tab: allows you to select an image that has already been uploaded to the CMS
    • Source: browse to the folder where your image was uploaded and select it
    • Image description: define the hover over text for the image
    • Dimensions: set the dimensions for the image or leave blank to use the original image dimensions
    • Constrain proportions: this should be checked OFF to ensure the image remains responsive to the browser window size

Insert a Table

You may wish to add a Hyperlink to some text to link elsewhere on the website, or to another website entirely.

  • Navigate to the area you want to insert the table and select Insert > Table and define the table dimensions

  • Enter the table content as you see fit

Insert a Video

You may wish to add a Hyperlink to some text to link elsewhere on the website, or to another website entirely.

  • Navigate to the area you want to insert the video and select Insert > Video and select Embed
