The website will expect files to be named and sized a particular way depending on the type of file you are uploading, which is covered in the relevant sections below.

Identifying Images on your Website

If you want to identify where the image you wish to replace is:

  • In Mozilla FirefoxGoogle Chrome, Right click on an image and select View Image Infoselect Open Image in New Tab.
  • Information on the image will be shown, including the URL will display the path to the file in image location in Documents & Images.
    • Note that when uploading an image, the
    size and the dimensions
    • name of the image must match the destination file name.
  • If View Open Image Infoin New Tab is not available, select View Background Image to show the image then right click the image and select View Open Image Infoin New Tab.

How to Upload Documents & Images

To upload the image, log in to the Straightsell Control Panel CMS and navigate to:

  • Content Management > Documents & Images
  • Select the Upload tab
  • Choose the specified folder
  • Click Browse and select your file
  • To upload multiple files at once select all the files then right click and select Send to – Compressed (zipped) folder
    • After selecting the .zip file that is created the Unzip checkbox will check on automatically
  • Check the Publish box and Uncheck the Optimise JPEGs box
  • Click Upload File

Product Images and Thumbnails

Product Images and Thumbnails are the images you'll upload most on your Straightsell website.

You can have more than one image per product, with additional images are appended with an underscore and a number.

    • Thumbnails will automatically be created in their required location
  • Click Browse and select your image/zip file

Product PDFs file names must match the Product Code and additional PDFs are appended with an underscore and a number.

You may wish to offer them as replacements for your Product Descriptions, or for supplementary information such as assembly instructions or safety information.


Product Image PDF Parameters

  • Name the image PDF ProductCode.pdf, ProductCode_1.pdf, ProductCode_2.pdf

Sideshow images come in two sizes depending on your Straightsell Website configuration.

These are easily replaceable and can link to pages on your website or simply display as an image.

  • 870px width x 230px height (normal) OR 1920px width x 500px height (full width)
  • Name the images slideshow_1.jpg through slideshow_9.jpg - images will appear in alphabetical order in the slideshow


To upload the image, log in to the Straightsell Control Panel and navigate to:

  • Select the Upload tab
  • Choose the folder /documents/slideshow_fullwidth - FOR FULL WIDTH STYLE
  • Choose the folder /documents/slideshow - FOR OTHER STYLE
  • Click Browse and select your image file (or zip file if uploading multiple files)
  • Check the Publish box and Uncheck the Optimise JPEGs box
  • Click Upload File

Website Background Images

If your website has a custom background image this would have been uploaded during the website project.

Brand Logo Images

You can display Brand logos on your home page below the Product Showcase.

The default layout allows for six Brand logos, with three per row.

  • Name the image brandlogo_1.jpg through up to brandlogo_68.jpg (depending on configuration)

Product Category Images

If you have Category Images enabled on your website you can upload images matching the name of the category level and they will show up when browsing your products list.

  • OR name the image based on its full category path e.g. Category1_Category2.jpg
