Below is a summary of the kinds of tasks you need to be able to perform if you are administering the Straightsell accounting system integration and website.

If you have difficulty with any of these please review the relevant knowledge base articles, or submit a Service Request for a training session. 

1) CatalogueLINK Application Backup

Do you have a backup solution in place for the CatalogueLINK application?

It is of utmost importance that the CatalogueLINK application (and therefore your website catalogue) is backed up as part of your standard backup process.

The location of the file directory to be backed up is listed below:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\SEL\CatalogueLINK\ (for 64 bit operating systems)
  • C:\Program Files\SEL\CatalogueLINK\ (for 32 bit operating systems)

Ensuring you have a regular (daily) backup in place will ensure that a potentially lengthy and costly restoration process for you catalogue data can be avoided.

2) CatalogueLINK Upload

Are you confident in administering CatalogueLINK Upload?

a) Do products imported from the accounting system and uploaded to your Straightsell website contain all the information you would expect?

  • CatalogueLINK Upload > Setup > Catalogue Fields


b) For customers that should be able to view/pay invoices and receive buyer specific pricing, have you set a date to import Invoices from and do customers have Upload Financials set to Yes In CatalogueLINK Upload?

  • CatalogueLINK Upload > Setup > Invoice Settings
  • CatalogueLINK Upload > Customers


c) Do you know how automation of CatalogueLINK Upload operates and is it configured to suit your business operations?

3) Straightsell CMS (Control Panel)

Are you confident in administering the Straightsell CMS (Control Panel)?

a) Do you know how to edit your own Control Panel User account?

  • Control Panel > My Details


b) Have you created additional Control Panel User accounts and supplied these accounts to those that need access to the Control Panel?

  • Control Panel > Manage Users


c) Do you know how to reset passwords for Control Panel User accounts in the event they forget theirs?

  • Control Panel > Manage Users


d) Do you know where you can change the email addresses for Contact Us forms and Orders Confirmations?

  • Control Panel > Company Information
  • Ecommerce > Ecommerce Settings > Order Email Settings


e) Do you know how to create Buyer Accounts for accounting system customers?

  • Control Panel > Manage Organisations
  • Control Panel > Manage Buyers


f) Have you created your own Buyer Account and Buyer User that can be used to troubleshoot a customer's product or pricing issue on the website?

  • Control Panel > Manage Organisations
  • Control Panel > Manage Buyers


g) Have you logged in as multiple Buyer Accounts uploaded via a Buyer File to ensure that their details, freight and payment terms are correct?

  • Control Panel > Manage Buyers


h) Are you aware of how to edit basic text on your website?

  • Control Panel > Edit Website


i) Do you know how to upload the following files (where applicable):

  • Control Panel > Documents & Images
    • Product Images
    • Product Category Images
    • Slideshow Images
    • Header Image
    • Logo Image
    • Brand Logos
    • Product PDF Documents


j) Do you know how to edit you Product Carousel on the home page?

  • Content Management > Web Pages > site/widgets/showcase_products


k) Are you able to add a new or blog article?

  • Control Panel - News
  • Control Panel - Blog


l) Have you performed an upload of Product Associations and/or Product Option Files and do you know how this function operates?

4) CatalogueLINK Download

Are you confident in administering CatalogueLINK Download?

a) Have you tested the download and export of customer registrations, orders and payments on orders and invoices?

  • CatalogueLINK Download (Download/Export)


b) Do exported customer registrations, orders and payments insert accurately into the accounting system?

  • CatalogueLINK Download (Download/Export)


c) Do you know how automation of CatalogueLINK Download operates and is it configured to suit your business operations?
