- Check the Automate checkbox beside each data type you wish to automate the import and upload of.
- Check the Day of the week checkboxes for each day that you wish automation to run.
- Factor in restarts or shutdowns of any servers or workstations such as the one you are working on, and the one hosting the accounting system.

Scheduled Task
Next we need to set up a Scheduled Task.
The following instructions are specific to Windows 7 but all modern versions of Windows can enable Scheduled Tasks.
- Go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools before selecting Task Scheduler.
- Select Create Task from the Actions pane.
- Select the General tab.
- Enter a name for the task.
Select the currently logged in user to run the task.
Note: You may be required to enter the password for the selected user account.
- Select Run only when user is logged on. The current logged in user must be logged in for Automation to run. If you do not select this option, automation will not run.
- Select Triggers and then New.
- Configure Repeat task every to 30 minutes or 1 hour and set for a duration of to indefinitely.
- Check the Enabled checkbox before clicking OK.
- Select the 'Actions' tab and then 'New'.
- Set 'Action' to 'Start a program'.
- Browse for UploadAuto.exe in the CatalogueLINK directory.
- In the 'Scheduled Tasks' window right click on the task and select 'Run'
Note: Automation can only run when a user is logged in, so lock your local or remote connection to the workstation to ensure it runs correctly. Do not log off or shut down.
Automatic Login on Restart
Your server (or wherever you have chosen to install CatalogueLINK) can be set to automatically log a user back in, in the event of a restart, power failure, or similar.
This allows for Upload Automation to start back up again.
- Microsoft has a guide on how to set this up
- The user that should be configured to automatically login should be the user that configured the scheduled task
Note: The method outlined by Microsoft involves using the Registry Editor, we would recommend this be handled by your IT professionals.
