You may have sets of products that you wish to group together for display to customers (see Checklist Item 34: Catalogue - Product Associations Display (Options)).

For example, on the demonstration website the Balorial Bed Frame comes in both 'King' and 'Queen' sizes and whilst they are actually two separate products, they have been linked together:

To set up Product Options a few requirements must be met:

  1. One of the products is defined as the 'parent' (generally the smallest or largest product) or a dummy parent product is created in your accounting system
  2. The Parent Product's Item Name, Description and Brand are made generic to cover each of the Child Products.
  3. An accounting system field is created to contain the Size data displayed in the drop down menu (see 'King' and 'Queen' example above)
  4. A Product Association File is filled out, linking the Parent Product to the Child Products
  • No labels
