This article will assist you in getting the data in your accounting system ready for display on your website. This information will be used for customers to find and learn about products and is also used for search engine optimisation (SEO).

Our demonstration website is referenced throughout this article and should give you a visual idea of the types of data you may want to display to customers.

Whilst, there is a lot of optional information you can populate against your products, the following is the minimum required for products to appear on your website:

  • Product Code
  • Product Name
  • Product Categorisation
  • Product Pricing

The following information is optional, but should also be considered:

  • Product Descriptions
  • Brand Search
  • Product Stock Levels
  • Product Options
  • Related Products
  • Product Images
  • Product Documents

Some of these data types, such as Product Code and Product Name, will be set up with default options so they will not be covered, but they can be changed if required. In addition, some data types, such as Product Images, are added outside of the accounting system in the CMS.

Please read the subsequent articles for an explanation of each of these data types to help identify what you will be using on your website.
