SAP Business One Pricing Hierarchy

An overview of how prices are applied in SAP Business One, taken from the SAP Help Portal is below:

Price Lists

Values for price lists are defined in ITEM MASTER DATA on the GENERAL TAB

Customers are assigned to a price list in BUSINESS PARTNER MASTER DATA on the PAYMENT TERMS TAB


Customer Parameter Technology has been assigned to the Distributor Sales Price.

  • Item A00001 has been assigned AUD625 for that price list and can be purchased from that website at that price.

Period and Volume Discounts (Requires "SAP Business One v9 (with Breaks)" to be set for Integrated Accounting System)

***Discount Groups and Special Prices for Business Partners will take precedence over these discounts***

Period and Volume Discounts can be set up from Inventory > Price Lists > Period and Volume Discounts

  • The following two discounts have been set up for the Distributors Sales Price
Period Discounts

From the Period and Volume Discounts window select an Item No. and then double click the number (#) to the left to bring up the Period Discounts window

  • Configure the Period Discount and and click Update
  • This can be seen on the website
Volume Discounts

From the Period and Volume Discounts window select an Item No. and then double click the number (#) to the left to bring up the Period Discounts window

  • Double click the number next to the Valid From date to bring up the Volume Discounts window
  • Configure the Volume Discount and click Update
  • This can be seen on the website

Discount Groups

Discount Groups can be assigned from INVENTORY > PRICE LISTS > DISCOUNT GROUPS.

Note: We do not support the selection of 'Do Not Apply Discount Groups'

Item Groups

Item Group J.B. Printers have been assigned a discount of 90%.

  • Customer Mashina Corporation can see a price of $50 for item A00001.
  • Discount is based on their assigned price list.

Properties

Item Property 1 has been checked in the PROPERTIES TAB of A0001 ITEM MASTER DATA

Item Property 1 has been assigned a discount of 75%.

  • Customer Mashina Corporation can see a price of $125 for item A0001~~~FOR LOWEST DISCOUNT ONLY~~


Manufacturers

The Manufacturer is set in Item Master Data in the location specified in the screenshot below

Manufacturer J.B. have been assigned a discount of 60%.

  • Customer Mashina Corporation can see a price of $200 for item A00001

Special Prices for Business Partners

Special Prices for BPs can be assigned from INVENTORY > PRICE LISTS > SPECIAL PRICES > SPECIAL PRICES FOR BUSINESS PARTNERS

Discounts

Customer Mashina Corporation has been assigned a 10% Discount to the Base Price of Item A00001.

  • It can be purchased from the website for AUD450

Period Discounts

Period Discounts can be accessed by double clicking on the NUMBER next to the ITEM you want to discount for a specified time.

You will need to click update on Period Discounts and Special Prices for Business Partners.


Customer Mashina Corporation has been assigned a 20% Discount to the Base Price of Item A00001 for a period of two weeks.

  • It can be purchased from the website for AUD400.

Volume Discounts

Volume Discounts can be accessed by double clicking on the NUMBER next to the PERIOD DISCOUNT of the ITEM you want to discount for bulk orders.

You will need to click update on Volume Discounts, Period Discounts and Special Prices for Business Partners.


Customer Mashina Corporation has been assigned a 75% Discount to the Base Price of Item A00001 when 5 or more are purchased.

  • One can be purchased from the website for AUD500 ex GST, Five can be purchased from the website for AUD125 ex GST each
