Product Categorisation
Product Categorisation
Products in the product menu must be easy for the customer to find. If products are structured in a way that doesn't make sense, a customer may not be able to find the product they are looking for. Have a look at some of your competitor's websites:
- Are the products easy to find?
- Would you do anything differently to improve the experience?
Our demonstration website is set up for a business that sells furniture and homewares. The product categorisation has been based on:
- The room the furniture is intended for (Category 1)
- The type of product (Category 2)
- A more specific sub category when required (Category 3)
See the Armen Reclining Lounge for a specific example:
- Category 1: Living Room
- Category 2: Lounge Suites
- Category 3: 3 Seater
- Category 2: Lounge Suites
However, what if this business only sold products for a living room? The category structure could be simplified to the following:
- Category 1: Lounge Suites
- Category 2: 3 Seater
